Sochi didn’t have one huge image-making moment, and that might be the biggest victory of all. The Winter Olympics of 2014 wasn’t marred by terrorism, violence, protests, or organizational issues. Russia gets credit for serving as a competent, welcoming host. The organizers and supporters of the 2014 Winter Olympics should be incredibly pleased with the success of the 17-day-long set of events.
