Universal Information Services Acquires Broadcast Monitoring from Walker Communications

Omaha, NE –
Universal Information Services has purchased the broadcast news monitoring assets from Walker Communications, headquartered in Texas.

This purchase includes news monitoring assets for the states of Colorado and New Mexico, and expands Universal Information Services’ ability to monitor all news for local, state, and national organizations.

“We are very excited about the new clients we will be serving in Colorado and New Mexico,” said Todd Murphy, Universal Information Services Vice President. “We thank Dave Walker, President of Walker Communications, for wanting Universal to carry on the high standards he has set for the service under his ownership.” The news monitoring and analysis services provided by Universal deliver statewide coverage and include the Colorado cities of Denver, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, as well as Albuquerque, New Mexico.

As a privately held and family owned company, Universal Information Services is celebrating its 105th year of innovation and continues to grow through acquisition and innovation. The ownership has not ruled out additional acquisitions in 2013.

“Although we’re over 100 years old, I make sure we operate with the innovation of a start-up organization,” Murphy said. “We call this the art of the restart, ensuring we remain relevant and diversified at all times.”
